Legoland

Legoland was a last minute add on to our trip. My kids ages are 15, 12, 9 and 7. All reviews said Legoland is best for 8 and under so I had very low expectations. We stayed at the Legoland hotel so I figured if we got bored we could head back to the hotel and swim.

The Legoland hotel had many pros and cons. Pros being right next to the entrance, free breakfast buffet and dance music playing in the elevator! Cons the room… we got an adventure themed room. It reminded me of a cheesy Vegas room and very claustrophobic. But the room had a safe in it where the kids had to find the code in the hotel to open it. They also had a lot of lego builds in the room.

On our first morning security was a little slow to get in but you are able to bring in outside food and small coolers. Once through the gates we met several characters and saw so many amazing lego builds.

Each ride had a sign warning of the 5 senses. I thought this was great for kids with sensory issues! I had to laugh at the taste one. All rides were 0 for taste except the sand pits which were a 2!

The rides were and I quote:
“Amazing!” says the 7 year old
“Good!” Says the 9 year old
“Ehhh” says the 12 year old
“I am not going on that!” says the 15 year old

Because the rides were a hit or miss we found so many fun and amazing things that were not ride based (and free!!!) First thing being the Pop Badges!! I had no clue about these even after doing research about Legoland. Every employee might have a Pop Badge that you can collect. They have all different kinds of themes and you can even trade them. It is completely free!

There is also a Pop Badge of Mr. Gold. He is very rare but if you find him you get a big prize! We kinda found him…

Another fun thing to do is bring your old mini figures and trade them with employees. This is very similar to the pin trading at Disneyland. This kept all of us on our toes looking at employees badges, in stores and even on rides for new figures.

All over the park they had air conditioned rooms where kids can build with legos. Each building had a different theme where the kids can build and the parents can relax. We really enjoyed these areas especially for the older kids.

Through out the park there were hand sanitizer stations and the park was very clean. We purchased reusable cups for $20. You get unlimited soda refills for the whole day. They have those fancy soda machines with 200 different flavors so the kids had a blast changing up their beverage. You can also bring in water bottles to fill with water at these stations.

Surprisingly enough Legoland had great food! We ate at a Pizza and Pasta buffet. It was all you can eat and drink. They had great outside seating in the shade and the food was yummy!

There were several options for fresh foods as well. Salads, fruits and sandwiches and if you go the apple fries are a must!
We were very surprised how much we enjoyed Legoland and were happy we chose two days to explore.
