McConnell Park is located off of Hampton Oak Dr and E. Stockton Blvd. It’s tucked away in a cute and quiet neighborhood. There are so many positives to this park that it’s on a regular rotation for our family.

The kids love this park because they have really tall climbing areas, long slides and swings. For me this side is better for older kids, because there are a lot of steep ladders. Even I get nervous going up there!

The toddler area is super cute with a place the kids can climb and play in. There is a smaller slide, little bit bigger slide and toddler swings.

For me I love the fact that I can exercise while the kids play. Keep in mind my kids are older and don’t rely on me anymore on most things. So I run the track around the park while they play. They also have great exercise equipment that I use in interval training.

They have a bunch of picnic tables under a shade structure , a large grass area and a cool paved soccer area. They have an adorable music area up on a mini hill that the kids love.
The cons are no bathrooms, not much shade around the play area and all the tan bark. But I guess this really isn’t anything new for Elk Grove. Most of our parks are like this.
